I have always like Schlage stuff in general; it's always appeared well-built and quality to me. We have an old farmhouse and this seemed like a perfect rear entry set (I know pictures can be confusing on here--sometimes they show the inside knob and sometimes they don't--this is the whole set you need for a door with know and deadbolt). The unit was well-packaged and comes with two keys. I'm not terribly handy and was really dreading pulling out the old sets and possibly having to patch wood, shim, etc. I didn't have to do any of that. I credit a decent installation the previous time, but these locks are very forgiving and easy to line up. I oil with WD-40 throughout and they feel great. Several folks have commented on how nice they look. The locks are a little notchy and the key was a little tricky to insert cleanly for a few weeks. As everything worked in and the oil is in there, it's a very smooth key insert and great action. |
