12 of 13 people found the following review helpful  Made correctly, January 14, 2013 This review is from: Ives by Schlage 42B10B Pocket Sliding Door Bolt (Tools & Home Improvement) After discarding 2 previous manufacturer's versions of this same over-center spring lock, this model lives up to it's intended purpose and design. The mechanism operates cleanly, snaps to the widest lock distance of all of them, and mounts cleanly. The pivot pins are squarely positioned and crimped accurately. The only drawback is that there are no mounting instructions included which forces the user to do a trial-and-error guess at the proper tools, spacing, and drilling depths. I found that drilling 2 holes with a 7/8" forstner bit 5/8" deep and 3/8" deep 1" from the top and 1 7/8" from the top respectively worked well. The finish is matte so it does not exactly match our other hardware, but I cleaned with mineral spirits and painted with adhesion promoter and clear gloss finish.
