For example we installed them on a pocket door from a common area bathroom which can also double as ensuite to our guest room. We put a conventional locking pocket knob on the bathroom side, then from the bedroom side, you can engage this to prevent any other users from entering the guest bedroom. Simple and functional. Our finishing carpenter did not report any installation difficulties.
