They feel solid in your hand not thin and hollow like the cheaper models. Also, if you're considering a cheaper knob be sure to see them in person as some are smaller whereas this one is typical size. Best of all, they are built for quick assembly. There are guide channels that line up the inside and outside knobs and guide the bolts into the right place. If you've ever installed a cheap knob without guides you'll know what a pain it is trying to get the two bolts to line up. Now I know why (hint: apparently it is both).The oil-rubbed bronze finish is AWFUL. I purchased a privacy knob and a passage knob in oil-rubbed bronze finish. I have these exact same knobs in my home, so I know what to expect. One set is a very light brown/rust color with scratches all over it from the hardware in the box not being packaged properly. The other set is really weird - one knob is a flat black sort of finish (like I think it should be), the other knob is actually a high gloss black finish - and it is NOT oil-rubbed, because the finish should rub off on your hand when new, and it doesn't. Oh, and there is a tag in the box that says "Comfortably fits women sizes 2-16". I can only imagine why that was in a door knob set box, but the quality control of these two knobs is really horrid.
